![]() ![]() Hi, I'm trying to decide which MIDI controller to buy and I think I choose between Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol M32 or M-Audio Oxygen Pro Mini (ooor, maybe, just maybe will go to their 49 keys versions). If you are techy and can source a similar LCD panel it may be easy enough to replace yourself and they should be available from china for around $20 odd but you would need the correct resolution and no fear of tearing down your keyboard to test. I have had the backlight die on my MCU which I had to replace the whole LCD as it was all integrated. I suspect it's either the LCD liquit deteriorating or the backlight starting to fade and die. ![]() The screens are a worry because I don't think there will be much that could be done especially out of warranty. ![]() For comparison, my Push2 is perfect even after 4 years each encoder has the same feeling with just enough resistance and no wobble. I really hate the difference myself, every single one feels different and completely inconsistent. ![]() The knobs tho, some have no resistance at all and I can almost freely spin them like a top where others feel like there is honey under them and some have some wobble where others are stiff. I have always had this issue and am still using the MK1 because I kind of don't trust the LCD displays for a start, the VFD display is normally much more reliable and hasn't missed a beat. Yeah it's a common NI issue in regards to the encoder knobs and it is NOT normal, it's just poor quality IMO. ![]()
